Appearance and a throwback park is really awesome. But the entire park stinks like poorly ventilated sewage. Again a real neat park but the porta potties and permanent toilets need a solution... The difference from a 5 to a 3....

Beautiful Trails. Wish they'd bring back horse camping.

This is THE park. Never complain about being bored here! In the summer, there's a beach for swimming, disc golf course, boat launch, camp grounds, picnic shelters, hiking, and mountain biking trails. There's even a separate set of trails just for horse back riding. In the winter, there's groomed trails for fatbiking and Snowshoeing and the boat launch is used by ice fisherman. Stop off in Mosinee at Piggly Wiggly and Family Dollar for supplies along the way.

This park is a great place for families to camp. The park has a very remote feel and while the lake isn't always ideal for swimming, it's for boating. The park also contains a multitude of trails for hiking and biking and an awesome 18-hole disc golf course.

Driving in, I was awed by the gorgeous old growth hardwood forest looming overhead, with very little underbrush. This is not one of those dry woods, but a plush vibrant one, yet not muddy. I had worried that the horse trails might have too much manure, but we barely came across any. The trails are in excellent condition, and the beach was spacious, clean & beautiful. (I was warned that later in the summer the beach can get a bit of algea. But this time (July 2) it was perfect). For the campground being lively and full, the plentiful hiking trails were peaceful. The ranger was excellent - super nice, fun and informative. He really got the visit started right. We will be coming back soon with friends.
